1. Eligibility

HostLeed is exclusively for verified short-term rental hosts, co-hosts, service providers, and experience providers operating in CARICOM member states. Each country's community is a separate, private space. Guests, researchers, data collectors, and competitors are expressly prohibited from joining.

2. Country Separation & Data Privacy

Each CARICOM nation on HostLeed operates as an entirely separate community. Members of one country cannot access, view, or interact with members or data from another country. Your data is stored separately and is only accessible within your country's community.

3. Honest Representation

All registration information must be true and accurate. Providing false information constitutes misrepresentation. The Platform may verify eligibility at any time and revoke access without notice.

4. Community Rules

  • Treat all members with respect and professionalism.
  • No spam, unsolicited advertising, or off-topic promotions.
  • No sharing of other members' personal information outside the Platform.
  • No harassment, discrimination, defamation, or abuse.
  • No false, misleading, or defamatory content.
  • Marketplace transactions are between members; HostLeed takes no responsibility for disputes.

5. Privacy & Data Protection

Your data is stored securely, used only to provide the platform, and never sold or shared with third parties. The Platform complies with applicable national data protection laws across CARICOM. You may control your privacy settings within your profile at any time.

6. Legal Warning

Any person who gains or attempts to gain access by falsely impersonating a host, submitting false eligibility responses, or using the platform for data harvesting or competitive intelligence may face legal action under applicable CARICOM national law. All access attempts are logged.

7. No Transactions & Platform Liability

HostLeed is a directory, community, and communication tool only. The platform exists to connect verified Caribbean hosts, co-hosts, service providers, and experience providers. No financial transactions of any kind occur on or through HostLeed.

All commercial arrangements, service agreements, bookings, payments, and any other financial dealings between members — including between hosts and service providers, hosts and co-hosts, or hosts and experience providers — are made independently, externally, and entirely outside of HostLeed.

HostLeed is not a party to any such arrangement. HostLeed does not vet, guarantee, endorse, or accept liability for:

  • The quality, reliability, or conduct of any service provider or experience provider listed in the directory
  • Any transaction, agreement, or dispute arising between members outside the platform
  • Any loss, damage, or claim resulting from a connection made through HostLeed

By using HostLeed, you acknowledge that the platform's role ends at connection — all responsibility for what happens beyond that rests solely with the parties involved.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the CARICOM member state in which you are registered. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of that nation.

9. Amendments

HostLeed reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

1. Who We Are

HostLeed is a private professional network for verified short-term rental hosts, co-hosts, service providers, and experience providers across CARICOM nations, operated as a solo entrepreneurial platform. Contact: html.platforms@gmail.com

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data (hosts & co-hosts): Name, email address, profile photo URL, WhatsApp number (optional), hosting areas, platforms used, listing URLs, co-host availability and offering type — provided by you at signup.
  • Service & experience provider data: Business or trading name, service category, service description, coverage areas, package names and pricing, and external booking or contact links. This data is provided voluntarily at registration and is used solely to populate your public directory listing on HostLeed.
  • Activity data: Posts, comments, likes, messages, marketplace listings, and event RSVPs you create on the platform.
  • Petition data: Email addresses submitted via country activation petitions.
  • Technical data: IP address (used once for automatic country detection via ipapi.co and ip-api.com, not stored), browser type, and access timestamps.
  • Terms acceptance: Date and time you accepted our Terms & Conditions and the version of this Privacy Policy in effect at that time.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To verify your identity as a CARICOM host, co-host, service provider, or experience provider and operate your account
  • To display your profile in the host directory (subject to your privacy settings)
  • To display service provider and experience provider profiles in the relevant HostLeed directory, enabling Caribbean hosts to discover and connect with them. No financial transactions are processed by HostLeed — all commercial arrangements are made independently and externally.
  • To send platform notifications relevant to your country community
  • To notify petition signatories when their country is activated on HostLeed
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore, hosted in the United States (us-central1 region). By joining HostLeed, you consent to your data being stored and processed in this jurisdiction.

5. IP Geolocation

When you visit HostLeed, we make a one-time request to ipapi.co and/or ip-api.com to automatically detect your country and pre-select your CARICOM nation. Your IP address is sent to these third-party services for this purpose only and is not stored by HostLeed. See their privacy policies at ipapi.co/privacy and ip-api.com.

6. Authentication

Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Google, your Google account email and display name are used to pre-fill your application. Firebase Auth is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: You may request a copy of your stored data at any time.
  • Correction: You can update your profile data via Edit Profile at any time.
  • Deletion: You may request full account deletion. Use the "Request Account Deletion" button in your profile, or email html.platforms@gmail.com. Deletion includes removal from Firestore and Firebase Authentication. Processing takes up to 30 days.
  • Petition opt-out: To remove your email from a country petition, contact us at the address above.

8. Data Retention

Member data is retained for the duration of your membership. Posts and community content you create may remain visible after account deletion unless you request full content removal. Petition emails are deleted after a country is activated or upon request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced via a platform alert. Your continued use of HostLeed after changes constitutes acceptance. The version number above will be incremented.
